my DIY on a budget Daenerys Targaryen ; Mother of Dragons from Game of Thrones Halloween Costume for a work contest. The wig was the only piece I bought for 20$ at a party store. Costume top was made from burlap and hot glue (my sewing skills are next to none). The necklace was made from a salt/water/flour clay mixture and wire, painted with gold after baking. Then I just layered leggings with brown boots, some belts and scarves I could find and topped it off with a curtain I found at the dollar store. (ok another 2 dollars I spent :P) The Dragon prop: I first made an armature (skeleton) out of wire, epoxy putty, aluminum tubes, Teflon tape and tinfoil (with nuts in the feet to screw the 'puppet' down while working on it.) I then made the body with the salt/flour/water clay mixture and baked it. The wings are aluminum wire covered in pantyhose and painted.
