Viking-style Round Shield

Finally got some good pics up.

It is made from one solid piece of wood. All the Celtic Knot work was carved out with a combination of hand tools (chisels, carving knives) and a rotary tool. The negative space was then burned with a wood burning tool. All of the metal, including the dished out shield boss (center) was hand worked. The edge was wrapped in pieces of leather, then tacked down using upholstery tacks. The back (not shown) has a single handle down the center, also hand carved from a square dowel, then wrapped in leather.

If you have any specific questions about how I went about building the shield, or the supplies, feel free to ask me. I hope you all like it!
