Japanese architecture studio Nikken Sekkei were asked to design a new, future-proof terminal for low-cost airline travellers at Tokyo Narita airport, for half the price of what it would usually cost - not easily done.

Nikken Sekkei opted to leave out got the standard moving walkways and illuminated signs, to cut costs, and chose to replace them with more minimal, good-looking visuals. The running tracks also fit in nicely with the upcoming 2020 Japanese Olympics.
