This list of Journals for Children is a bit different than my typical book lists for kids. I was inspired one day in a library gift store and the first book you see below caught my eye. I have written several times about how I and my kids keep diaries. My older son has a spiral notebook he uses as a hobby book, and my 4 year old uses his journal for pre-writing practice to help strengthen his fine motor muscles. I, myself have kept a diary since I was nine years old. Summer is coming up soon, lots of you will be traveling, or even just lounging around in the yard or at the beach — it’s a perfect time to do a little free writing with your kids.
